Meet Jenny Newberry

Jenny Newberry is a mixed-media artist whose work honors memory, material, and the human connection to everyday objects. With a foundation in sculpture and a deep commitment to sustainability, her practice breathes new life into the discarded — transforming forgotten items into intricate works of art. Her pieces explore themes of generational love, consumption, nostalgia, and personal histories through reused textiles, plastics, metal, and found materials.

Jenny is the founder of Berryfine Goods, a circular business that helps aging individuals downsize their possessions with dignity while diverting usable materials from landfills. This mission deeply informs her artwork, where every object has a story and nothing is wasted. From vintage buttons and costume jewelry to industrial scraps and plastic debris, her assemblages are both intimate and expansive.

In 2024–2025, Jenny brought her passion for sustainability into the classroom as a visiting artist at Marshall Road Elementary School in Vienna, Virginia. There, she collaborated with four sixth-grade classes on a nine-month recycled art project, guiding students in the creation of a large-scale roadrunner sculpture made entirely from reclaimed materials. The entire school community participated in collecting items for the piece, fostering a powerful dialogue around environmental responsibility and creative reuse.

Jenny’s work has been recognized throughout the region, including receiving the Juror’s Choice award in The Beauty of Diversity exhibition at Fall Church Arts Gallery — a show celebrating cultural expression through material and form. Her recent exhibitions also include Earth and Art at Berkeley Arts Council in Martinsburg, West Virginia, where she received a Honorable Mention award, and Mindscapes at Corgi Clay Studio in Stafford, Virginia, a show exploring inner emotional landscapes through mixed media.
